Empire and Kingdom - 2020
From The Television 20200521:
Sakurai Sho's, Matsumoto Jun's Dream is to Build an Empire/a Kingdom!?
This is Gekkan Arashi where two members execute a challenge in Gekkan The Television. After the shiritori challenge, this time, we're introducing the interview of Sakurai Sho and Matsumoto Jun challenging "science experiment!"
S: For Matsujun, this is your third time?
M: This is my favorite theme (laughs). I'm looking forward to this experiment~
S: This has already turned into an established practice.
M: Right. Each time, there's a new discovery, right. It's like, ah so that's how it works, I didn't know!
S: That's right. It's not only fun, but we learn something. For example, how balloons connected into a donut shape will revolve according to the flow of wind.
M: That's right~
S: For adults it's still fun, but for kids it would've been even more exciting, right.
M: If I could experience this kind of fun experiment and then go to science class after that, I think I would have liked it better, right... (Laughs).
S: (Laughs) You're really thinking deeply about it.
M: Speaking of which, I realized that I didn't like science as a school subject. People often group science and mathematics together, right. I like math but I don't like science (laughs). For me, science and math were different things (laughs).
S: I don't like science nor math (laughs). But when I was in primary school, I liked science. After entering middle school, it became Science 1, Science 2, from that point I didn't understand it. I remember liking experiments. This type of exciting experiment like the one we had today, we didn't really have that in school, right.
M: That's true~
S: The information we were told about dry cell battery today was interesting! So dry cell battery is dried battery, huh.
M: Ever since I was young, I had always been curious about it. I heard that electricity is accumulated and stored, so it becomes a lake. I get that, I thought, but in that case, why "dry" it?
(Note: the 池 from 乾電池 (dry cell) means lake, while the 乾means dry.)
S: So you realized it.
M: I realize it. But, my good part is that I don't research it further from that point on (laughs).
S: Good part (laughs).
M: I just let odd things and leave them alone (laughs). It's finally resolved today! I'd like to try and see the world from the physics and chemistry point of view. This is~ about conducting electricity? Charcoal that contains air conducts so maybe even bell peppers can do it?
S: How fun! (Laughs) If you have that level of awareness, maybe even if the world becomes a survival world, you will survive.
M: I'm confident that I won't survive (laughs).
S: Me too ~ (laughs). If it's among us, Ohno (Satoshi)-san probably will survive. (It's okay, Sho-kun, you can die in each other's arms instead, that would be very touching)
M: In the very unlikely event that he can't survive and dies, it seems that he won't realize it either (laughs).
S: If this world were invested by zombies, he would normally talk to the zombies (laughs). Conversely, it seems the zombies will be disappointed, like, Huh? He's not surprised? (Laughs). However, today, I {got to fulfil} my desire to fire a kamehameha, that was the best (laughs). Gekkan Arashi is always making dreams come true (laughs).
M: I'm glad (laughs).
S: It's thanks to assistant Matsumoto Jun. My kamehameha is 100% made by Matsumoto Jun (laughs).
M: I'm glad. It's because I want your dreams to come true (laughs).
S: If you have a dream, shall I help you with it?
M: My dream is to make a kingdom (laughs). Maybe it's a bit difficult.
S: That's an unexpected coincidence. My dream is to create an empire (laughs).
M: How are you going to make it? As for me, I will make a dictatorship kingdom (laughs).
S: For me, I'm thinking of making a Hip Hop empire (laughs).
I feel like Sho-kun had mentioned hip hop country before for some reason, but no matter what I can't find the interview. Could it be, it's actually this one that I'm remembering?? The quality of my memory smh. ShoJun who can't decide whether they want world domination or creating a country is always cute.
