The Yakai (I lost count what number I'm at) - 2021
From Sakurai Ariyoshi The Yakai 2021/12/30:
They’re talking about what Jun’s been doing this year. He’s been taking it slow, working for 3 months starting April, then taking another 3 month break. He currently has work.
Ariyoshi: (pointing at Sho) He’s working like a cart-horse, why is it so different?
M: It’s because he wants to work.
S: Just as he said.

M: I thought that I just wanted to take it easy. Ohno is… Leader decided he wanted a full break. I wondered what the other three were planning to do, turns out they’re working like cart-horses. Just like usual.
Ariyoshi: He even did the election special program.
Jun explains he wanted to have a balanced life, so even with 99.9 and other jobs, he wants to take it easy whenever he can.
He mostly stays home. He enjoys being able to sleep and wake up whenever he wants. Last year he couldn’t sleep well. Even if he slept, he’d end up waking up.
Sho wonders if he doesn’t get tired of living that way. Maybe it’s fine at the start, but…?
M: It’s not always like that. Around February…
S: You had enough (laughs).
M: I had about a month to do nothing.
Ariyoshi asks him if he doesn’t worry about his life ending just as is, or work would stop coming. Jun says he doesn’t think about that at all. He already knew he’d have filming in April so he calculated the timing. He started moving his body in mid February, waking up early, making plans on what to do and so on.
Ariyoshi: (to Sho) Do that!
M: You should do that!
S: (shakes head)

Michopa: He wants to work!
S: I’ll become worried…
M: What are you worried about?
S: If I don’t fill my schedule I get worried.
Fukazawa asks him about his hobbies. Other than eating and drinking, Jun talks about his projector which supports 4K and 8K. He’d watch things like World Heritage videos, appreciating the beauty while drinking.
Michopa wants to know if he cooks. Jun mostly orders take-out. He has a lot of friends who work in restaurants so when they don’t have work sometimes he calls them over and ask them to make him something.
S: This person is amazing. That one time, my manager told me that the day before Matsumoto-san made a party to appreciate the managers’ hard work. He invited all managers to his house. I thought, does he have that many chairs? He doesn’t have enough, right? It turned out that he asked his chef friend to come to his house and treat the managers.
Ariyoshi: In that case, there’s no way he won’t have work. They’ll think, “For Matsumoto-san’s sake…!”
Jun says that among their managers, there are younger ones and older ones, but due to alcohol even the younger ones became able to say various things to their boss and to Jun. It was interesting to see people who usually work so seriously in that situation. It was fun.
Ariyoshi didn’t have that impression about Jun, that he calls people over, he thought he’d probably fuss over the cleanliness and such. Jun doesn’t mind and calls his friends over often, and those friends bring their friends so it keeps increasing.
S: What was frightening is that when Ninomiya and Aiba… At Matsujun’s place there are paintings, artworks made by big artists. They saw those and kept going, “Who made this? Can I touch it? Can I touch it?” I was like, “Stop that! That’s not for touching! It’s for your eyes only!” Then, while grinning he went, “That’s fine. If you touch it, that also adds value.” It was frightening! I wished they’d stop it. They were like, “I’m touching it~”

Michopa wonders if they often meet for work.
S: We meet quite often.
M: In private life, too.
S: For example during the Olympics, after filming in the morning, I went to Matsujun’s place.
M: He did.
Fukazawa: At Matsumoto-kun’s place?
M: It was kinda like, let’s have a meeting.
S: So while talking about work, we drank expensive water. He lined them up and let me chose by myself. There was one I’d never seen so I looked it up. It was expensive.
Ariyoshi: Instead of asking you looked it up?
S: I couldn’t ask him that.
M: He was drinking with Ohno that one time. (Sho too) Ohno too, those two were really drunk. I received a call (from Ohno) around 23:30. I had to wake up early so I was planning to go to bed at 0:00 so being asked, “Can you come over?” gave me a very complicated feeling. He was really drunk. So I thought I’d just bring water over as a gift. I told him, “Drink this.” The water I gave them was that one.
S: It’s good water.
Extra: Jun spotting Sho’s stuff.
M: Isn't this Sakurai-kun's?

Also how Sho introduces him:
S: That sounds good.
Ariyoshi: You sure like working.
M: Where is he aiming to?
They're starting to grill the meat.
S: (while reading his notes) For the garlic and chili, the umami flavor contains glutamic acid.

M: (laughs) He suddenly starts explaining.
Michopa and Ariyoshi are focused on the lamb. Jun and Fukazawa take off their jackets because it’s starting to get warm. Jun adjusts the air conditioner temperature.
Sho explains more about how to cook the garlic and chili for umamijiru so Ariyoshi comments that he’s really promoting the umamijiru a lot.
Sho asks if lately he’s been eating healthy food like this. Jun says he’s been drinking boiled water, apart from normal water. Sho adds that Jun doesn’t get the boiled water from the water dispenser but really boils it properly. Jun says he does it in the morning. Michopa wants to know if it’s different. Jun says the dispenser doesn’t really get to the boiling point. For Jun, the definition of boiled water is that the water has to boil properly (the whole thing should splash around) then cooled down.
Sho asks Fukazawa if there’s a member who knows this in his group. Fukazawa says there’s none.
M: There definitely is, you just don’t know it.
Jun says Iwamoto should know much about this kind of topic. Fukazawa says that Watanabe really knows a lot about beauty stuff.
M: The guy who’s good at singing?
Fukazawa: You really know a lot!
M: It’s because I’m doing this year-end event thing so I’ve been really listening to a lot of songs.
S: That’s right. Matsumoto-kun is directing Johnny’s festival.
M: I’m rushing listening to songs from 13 groups.
S: That’s amazing, isn’t it? Not just his own group, he does that for other groups as well. I’m proud as a member.
Ariyoshi starts eating the grilled lamb and exclaims that it’s good. Sho announces that he’s removing the garlic.
M: But we're going for the meat now.

Sho announces that he's boiling the umeboshi. Ariyoshi wonders if it's okay that he's not eating the lamb since it's so good.
S: When the amino acid from umeboshi is mixed with the glutamic acid from garlic and chili, the umami flavor will increase.
M: Can you just put off the explanation until later?
Michopa: It’s because you want to give the explanations right?
M: He likes explaining things.
Fukazawa suggests that alcohol would go well with the food and they decide that red wine would be good. Sho and Ariyoshi have a conversation about grilling the umeboshi and making the umamijiru while the others are getting the wine. Jun asks if Ariyoshi is fine with red wine.
Ariyoshi: Can I have the red one?
S: White for me.
Fukazawa: I would like the white one, too, please.
Michopa: Sakurai-san likes white?
M: He does like white.
Sho announces that he’ll start cooking the Kisarazu vegetables. Jun pops the wine bottle.
Michopa: He’s choosing it for us.
Ariyoshi: He knows the expensive ones.
Michopa: He also knows that Sakurai-san likes white wine.
S: That’s amazing, right? It’s only changed this past few years. I used to like red.
Sho finally eats the lamb and says red goes with the lamb.
Ariyoshi: Weren’t you going to eat umamijiru?
S: White goes with umamijiru.
He announces he’s going to add the olive oil (previously cooked with garlic and chili) into the umamijiru.
Ariyoshi: It’s a precious umamijiru.
M: Since he’s going all the way to prepare it, right. It looks delicious though.
S: In theory, it’s peperoncino. Olive oil, garlic, and taka no tsume (a variant of chili).
M: Is that written there, too? That in theory it’s peperoncino?
S: Why do you know that?
M: I thought that there’s no way you’d know that (laughs).
S: As expected. I admire that. Like, why did you know that.
Sho announces that the vegetables are ready to eat. Ariyoshi is surprised that it’s good.
Jun gets a call from someone. He’s invited one more person since it’s a year-end party.
He goes to try the vegetable and asks if he should eat it with the umeboshi. Jun says it’s good. Michopa adds that the umami flavor really comes out.
S: There’s still some umamijiru left. Do you want to add umamijiru to that?
M: The sourness from umeboshi is softened. Maybe because of the spiciness?
S: That kind of difficult question...
M: Due to the chili's spiciness, the sourness goes away, I think.
S: I suppose so...
Ariyoshi: Don't give such an ambiguous response.
S: That is correct!
M: That's no good. After eating it there's no comment about the impression.
They're eating Michopa's meat, which is tongue (except Sho makes a mistake and says it's bread (pan) even though he meant to say tongue). Michopa got it from her favorite yakiniku shop. Jun also goes to yakiniku, he rotates between three restaurants.
S: He goes to open-air ones too, not just the ones with private rooms.
Michopa: Really?
M: Yes, definitely. When I go there, I talk to the people I meet there, too.
Ogi and Cunning Takeyama arrive at Yakai House. Ogi is a Jun fanboy and gives him a rose.
Takeyama is interested in the outer space, like Jun is. Sho asks if he would like to space travel, and Jun says he would if he can. He has a friend who’s even gone to Russia to be able to do so, and hearing his story, Jun became interested in the outer space too.
Jun’s guest turns out to be Kagawa Teruyuki. He brings castella for them. Because he announced that he likes insects on Yakai five years ago, he got an offer from NHK E to do a program on insects. He’s even producing castella now (he has a website called insect market).
Fukazawa looks at the people in the room and says that he shouldn’t be here. Jun tells him that he’s Snow Man so he’s fine, the one who shouldn’t be here is Takeyama.
Jun asks what is Fukazawa’s rank in Snow Man, and he says he’s probably 7th in popularity, but if it’s just the face he should be first or second. Jun says that there’s no way, and number one is definitely Raul. Fukazawa says number one and two are Raul and Meguro.
Jun mentions how Meguro used to back dance for Arashi before he became Snow Man, and back them he didn’t have a cool image. He was more of the funny guy position. They would tease him by calling him with Ebisu, Gotanda, and so on. After he entered Snow Man, he rapidly became cool, so Jun was surprised.
Takeyama holds a quiz about the outer space. The question is about what Japanese junk food that astronauts bring to the space station. It’s Lawson’s karaage. He brings one with him and asks Jun who likes the outer space to try it. It’s freeze-dried. Jun thinks it doesn’t taste like karaage at all.
They play a few games next where the winners would get a chance to randomly pick their prizes, including the ones from Eikura Nana and Kimura Fumino. Jun is aiming for those two prizes and by some incredible luck, he gets both in the end.
Extra: Sho playing around a little with Jun filming him

They’re talking about what Jun’s been doing this year. He’s been taking it slow, working for 3 months starting April, then taking another 3 month break. He currently has work.

Also how Sho introduces him:
S: It’s Jun-kun from Matsumoto-san house.
Fukazawa has the impression that Jun is particular about everything.
M: That’s right. Especially water.
S: He has specific preferences, like this one is good, something like that. It depends on the season.
M: Once I decide that I will only drink this water, I really won’t drink anything else.
Sho offers them drinks and Michopa remarks that they probably don’t have expensive water here. For some reason Ariyoshi insists that he’s walking home so he can have alcohol. Jun is impressed by the size of the kitchen.
Jun asks if Fukazawa has drunk with him. He has, but not like this. It was on occasions like Johnny-san’s birthday. Ariyoshi asks if he’s nervous.
Fukazawa: I’m more nervous with him compared to Sakurai-kun.
Sho: (hits him twice)

Fukazawa: It’s because he’s always like this. He treats me kindly.
Ariyoshi: You don’t meet him much?
Fukazawa and Jun agree that, surprisingly, they don’t get to meet much.
Fukazawa: His aura is amazing.
M: (Sakurai’s) aura is amazing, right.
Fukazawa: Sakurai-kun, too, of course.
M: (to Sho) Why did you make that face just now, when you turned around?

Fukazawa mentions that it’s amazing that he’s now standing between the two.
Michopa can’t drink alcohol at all. Jun asks Fukazawa to prepare everyone’s drinks while he starts washing.
Sho mentions that this scene is something he sees a lot, Matsujun cleaning up. Michopa says that it’s rare. Ariyoshi adds that it’s like a drama. Jun says this happens a lot.
S: Really. He cleans after we’re done.
M: When I went to Sakurai-kun’s place, I also did this before going home.
S: Very clean. I was surprised.
The group gathers at the table with a very nervous Fukazawa. Jun starts talking about the impression he gets from Snow Man. For example, they’re capable, and they’re good at dancing. It’s good to have a good-for-nothing in the group. Ariyoshi says that he thinks that it’s Fukazawa.
Sho decides to start preparing the food. Michopa makes a comment how Jun was able to relax, but now he seems busy. Jun agrees.
M: Now, it’s no different than when Arashi was still active.

Sho brings a portable hot plate. He says that he has asked Jun to bring the meat he received for his birthday. Jun explains that he got it from his friend who sells meat. He requested it so that it could be sent as a take-out and gave it to Sho as his birthday present. That meat was well-received and Jun has prepared the same thing for today.
Ariyoshi and Michopa make a comment how Jun has a lot of friends.
Jun takes out the lamb meat and starts explaining what he got for them. He gave lamb meat and jerk chicken from his friend who runs a chicken store and another one who runs a Genghis-Khan restaurant. Sho mentions that the chicken was delicious.
Michopa asks if they send presents to each other. Jun says Arashi always does. Sho starts talking about the present that he’s been looking for for Jun’s birthday. He hasn’t found it yet. It’s the golf cap from the Olympics that has the letter J on it. He wanted to buy two but it was already sold out.
M: Using Sakurai-san’s power, it’ll be found in no time, right?
S: No, it’s impossible. Even though I wanted to give that to Matsujun.
Michopa has also brought some meat for the year-end party. Sho also has something prepared. Vegetables from Kisarazu collected earlier in the morning to make umamijiru.

Sho starts explaining about umamijiru since nobody knows what it is.
M: Aren’t you doing cooking on a different show?
S: I do.
M: So you do.
Sho explains that it’s more difficult doing it at home because at the set, the portions are prepared beforehand. Jun tells him he should do it at home, it’ll give him a better sense for cooking, for example how to use the knife, the seasonings and such. Ariyoshi says that his work will increase if he does.
S: That sounds good.

M: Maybe they’ll ask you to do a cooking show.
Fukazawa has the impression that Jun is particular about everything.
M: That’s right. Especially water.
